Professional Trainer
Amy is the Director of Training and Head Trainer with K9-Training Specialist.
Born and raised with dogs, Amy discovered a passion for training when she started as a client with Jorge in 2017. Utilizing the companion-based training method he developed, Amy has worked with over 250 dogs in the last five years.
She has successfully trained in multiple disciplines, including Competitive Obedience, Barn Hunt, Scentwork, Dock Diving, and others.
Amy works closely with all of our clients, but she specializes in the puppy group. Using positive reinforcement, she helps clients develop engagement and a solid foundation for more advanced obedience work.
She believes the essential part of training is the relationship between the dog and handler and emphasizes the team dynamic for every client.
Amy loves nothing more than watching a young puppy and new handler develop into a confident, consistent team! Her current dogs have earned over 20 titles in multiple disciplines!
Amy is a member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Greater Washington and is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. She currently lives in Columbia, Maryland, with her pack: Hawkeye (Labrador Retriever), Radar (German Shepherd), and Hunnicutt (Labrador Retriever).
